Tramadol responds well to opioid potentates such as Promethazine. These limit the amount of medication needed to kill pain as well as increasing the percentage of the Tramadol transformed in the liver to stronger active metabolites. Tramadol is not passed to nursing puppies through the dam’s milk so can be used for pain control in lactating bitches.
